The Beverley,  40 Murrayfield Avenue,  Edinburgh,  EH12 6AY.

The Beverley guest house is located on a quiet tree lined avenue in Murrayfield on the west of the city only minutes from Edinburghs historical city centre.  Edinburgh’s excellent bus service will whisk you from the bottom of the Avenue into the City Centre in about 5 minutes.

Besides being well located for the city centre Murrayfield has its own character and is well serviced by local shops and amenities e.g. Murrayfiled Rugby Stadium (the home of Scottish rugby), Murrayfield Golf Club, Murrayfield Ice rink, Edinburgh Zoo, Dean Gallery, the Gallery of Modern Art, Restaurants, Convenience Stores, Takeaway food, Pubs.  The Water of Leith which provides some picturesque walks can again be accessed from the bottom of the Avenue.

FROM EDINBURGH AIRPORT (approx. 5 miles) :

A taxi will take about 15/20 minutes and costs approximately £15/£18 dependent on traffic.  The airport bus, number 100, also takes 15/20 minutes and costs £4.50 for a single and £7.50 for an open return. Ask the bus driver to let you off at the ‘Murrayfield’ bus stop. You should then walk about 200m in same direction as the bus and turn left into Murrayfield Avenue (not  Murrayfield Road). The Beverley is near the top of the avenue on the left hand side.

Edinburgh Trams: Edinburgh trams are now in service. Although there is a tram stop at Murrayfield it is some 15 minutes walk from The Beverley. If you wish to use public transport from the airport we would advise that you use the No. 100 bus as outlined above.

FROM THE TRAIN STATIONS (approx. 1.5 miles) :

The main station is Edinburgh Waverley. A taxi from there will take about 10 minutes and cost around £8.  Alternatively if you come up the escalator unto Princes Street and turn left and walk about 300 meters you can take Lothian bus numbers 12,26 and  31.  It will say Costorphine on the bus stop ( which is opposite Marks & Sparkes) with the appropriate bus No.  A single will cost £1.60 and a Day ticket £4  You buy these on the bus and will need the exact change.  Ask the driver to let you off at Roseburn Terrace.  Murrayfield Avenue is directly opposite the bus stop and the Beverley is three quarters of the way up on the left hand side.

From Haymarket train station a taxi will take about 3 minutes . Alternatively you can take the Lothian bus numbers 12, 26 and 31 from outside the station. Get off at Roseburn as above.  You can also purchase a ‘day ticket’ for £4 that will allow you to hop on and off any Lothian buses all day.

You should ideally approach us from the City Bypass or airport (North / West of the city).
Coming in from the bypass (west / north) you can avoid the city centre traffic and one way system. You should approach the city centre on the the main A8 (also known as Glasgow Road, St Johns Road and Corstorphine Road) and will pass the Zoo and Murrayfield Hospital on your left. You will then approach a QuikFit garage on your right and Murrayfield Avenue is just after it on the left.
