The Beverley is recognised by the Scottish Tourist Board with a four star rating, and its elegant but informal atmosphere ensures a comfortable, relaxed and enjoyable stay.

About the Owners
THE HUTCHISON FAMILY
Judy and Hutch bought the Beverley in December 1998 to tie in with Hutch’s retirement. For the most part Judy handles the day to day running of the business but Hutch’s attention to detail keeps her on her toes!
“We were quite ambitious at the start with what we wanted to do with the guesthouse but it has certainly paid off. No two rooms are the same and we have worked hard to refurbish them all in an effort to get everything just right for our guests.”
“Without doubt one of the main pluses is the people you meet and the rapport you have… we have people from all corners of the world who are coming back because they enjoyed their stay so much.”
“It’s been great fun so far and for as long as people keep coming to visit the city then we will keep doing everything we can to make their stay at the Beverley as pleasant as possible.”
Pre-conceived ideas of having the time to spend afternoons on the golf course or exploring Edinburgh on their tandem have gradually come to fruition and they now find time to enjoy the city’s restaurant and theatre life. When the opportunity arises they also like to catch up with their two prodigal sons.
Darryl finished a second degree at the College of Art and is living in Tel Aviv since marrying Rony. Once a year they hope to manage the guesthouse for a couple of weeks to help us get away for some golf!
Gregg having left the military spent some time in the city before going out to the Middle East as a risk consultant. He has now rejoined the army, recently got married and is living in Shropshire.
